When all or part of the chosen ingredients fail to create an effect, attempting to combine the same ingredients again will darken the names of ingredients which were previously proven to produce nothing with the first ingredient selected. Each of those open a sub-menu which lists only ingredients that share that effect.

With perks, all four effects can be found by eating a single ingredient. All ingredient effects are temporary, and only Jarrin Root is potentially fatal if eaten, making experimenting quite safe. The first effect can also be revealed by 'eating' the ingredient, which immediately causes the effect on the Dragonborn after consumption. **HUGE Update on – List is about 99% complete.Bosmer, Breton, Khajiit, and Dunmer gain a +5 boost to Alchemy at the start of the game. I have not found a list of which items were added by that mod, but as I figure them out, I will denote them in orange.** **Note: Some of the items on this list may be added by Fishing In Skyrim by Arodicus Snaux. I hope that this will be useful to others, and maybe save you from wasting rare and valuable ingredients just trying to figure out what they do. I just got Snakebite (I think that’s the name of the perk) which allows me to learn more from eating ingredients, so I’m building the list as I acquire new ingredients. It will be updated probably once a week as I keep learning new effects. This alchemy list however, is far from complete. The cooking recipes list, as far as I know, is quite complete except for the secret recipes that are out in the world. With CACO being one of my favorite mods, I am making these lists for myself, but I figured it would be a great thing to share, since it seems that no one else has gone to the trouble of doing it.
